8. Advertising and Tracking

CheckMyFit uses the Facebook/Meta SDK to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and improve our marketing efforts.

Data Collected for Advertising

  • Device Identifier (IDFA): Your device's advertising identifier
  • User Identifier: An anonymous identifier to track app events
  • App Events: Actions you take within the app (e.g., purchases, feature usage)

This data is shared with Meta/Facebook for advertising purposes, including measuring ad performance and targeting.

App Tracking Transparency (iOS 14.5+)

On iOS 14.5 and later, you will be prompted to allow or deny tracking when you first open the app. This is required by Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework.

  • If you allow tracking, we can measure ad effectiveness and provide personalized ads
  • If you deny tracking, we will not access your IDFA or share data with Meta for advertising
  • You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking

Purposes of Tracking

  • Third-party advertising: Delivering relevant ads through Facebook Ads
  • Campaign measurement: Understanding which ads lead to app installs and conversions
  • Analytics: Analyzing app usage patterns to improve our service

Opt-Out

You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time by:

  • Denying tracking permission when prompted
  • Changing your tracking settings in iOS Settings
  • Adjusting your ad preferences in your Facebook account settings
